The story is about a young man that we took into our family earlier this year after he had been homeless for three years.
He aged out of the state foster care system and like many others had no support system and found himself alone on the streets of Phoenix.
Jose was not the first young adult that we took into our home from the streets, but he had many more challenges to battle. After living on the streets for three years, he had to deal with legal issues, immigration issues, and drug issues, but with a lot of love and grace, we watched God transform Jose’s life into a beautiful work of redemption for His glory.
Jose now lives with my sister and her husband, and he finished his recovery program and all of his court issues are resolved. He works full time and just got promoted into a manager position. He also plays soccer twice a week and is an amazing athlete.
Jose is now 23, and he actively participates in helping with all of our projects to feed and love on the homeless, as well as provide gifts and goodies for the kids in state foster care. His heart is pure and his future is bright!
The moral of the story, don’t give up on anyone that seems like they will never get it together. Instead get to praying and pouring out your heart to God for them to be healed and restored! God will do His part, so don’t neglect to do your part!
I should add that it wasn’t an easy road for any of the people involved, but it was worth it! We failed a few times, and he did also, but God was faithful, and He did what we couldn’t do.
Love Wins Again!
Good news! Here is the follow up story that the news reporter was so kind to come and do an update for us on Jose.
