When I was caring for the little ones at the department of child safety in late 2015, I became a beloved daughter of God that was well pleasing to Him. I’m not saying what I felt like, I am repeating what He said to me. I felt like a failure that never got anything right.
I would leave every night sobbing the whole way home from the placement center where the kids were taken while waiting for foster homes to take them. I was filling up God’s bowl with all of my prayers asking for divine intervention in the lives of every child that I would meet. I truly had no idea how valuable those tears and prayers would turn out to be for the 20,000 children in state foster care then.
It wasn’t long before God proved totally faithful and began answering every single one of my prayers. He would even use the exact words I prayed and speak them to someone else that He was calling in to fulfill a prayer.
For example, a volunteer was signing out to leave one day, and the lady at the desk asked her why she chose to volunteer at the placement center. The lady smiled and said, “You wouldn’t believe me if I told you.” I was walking by and heard this, and quickly turned around and said, “I will believe you!” So the lady began explaining how she saw the news story about the center opening, and she heard the Holy Spirit tell her to go and apply to help care for the kids, because she was needed to bring the light of love to the children that may never have another opportunity to receive that light otherwise.
I don’t recall the exact words now, but as she spoke them, I smiled really big, and said, “I know you are telling the truth, because you just repeated the exact words that I prayed to God asking him to send help for these kids.” The lady was pleased to hear that she wasn’t the only one that had faith and obeyed God’s voice. The receptionist was flipping out and had goosebumps. It was that day when I realized that we weren’t there just to help the kids, but we were there to transform a government agency to believe and trust in God for help.
People hate to hear about God until they actually experience His love and faithfulness to help ALL who call on Him and believe in His unfailing love to rescue and restore.
Now I am called in to pray for the kids that have been through horrific trauma such as witnessing a parent murder the other, and the staff are so grateful to have the peace that was never available before we (Childhelp founders and a few other believers ) invaded the chaos with perfect love in 2015.
The agency had reached an all time high with almost 21,000 kids in state care and over 17,000 cases on backlog at the beginning of 2016, but God actually came and spoke to me in March 2016, and told me that it was enough. He was watching what was happening and seeing how the evil was crippling the efforts being made to help these children, and He told me that He was arousing Himself and coming out to fight for my cause. He said that I should take a rest, because He had other work for me to do later.
As of March 2016, the numbers of kids in state care for the first time in over seven years decreased. That was the start of a massive shift that caused the leaders to gain public recognition for their amazing turn around of an agency that had formerly been considered one of the worst messes in the nation.
There are less than 12,000 kids in state care now and no backlogged cases or any other hidden scandalous things. There are community partnerships now in place and people focused on doing what is right and not creating more trauma or blame.
God is so good!
No one believed what God was going to do or what I was praying for, because they had never known God.
God moved massive mountains in my state through one broken-hearted woman who had nothing to gain and had been rejected by all after giving all to help.
It wasn’t that the people didn’t like me or know that I was deeply passionate about seeing children helped. They were being deceived and believing that they shouldn’t allow anyone to mention God or Jesus, because it could offend people, and cause more problems for them.
I didn’t work for anyone, but helped and prayed for everyone, because I was sent by God to transform the hearts of the people by showing them what love really looks like in faith. They simply didn’t understand how much God wants to help and how much He will do to turn the mess and chaos into a glorious testimony of His deep love for His children.
Believe in God and His Word. Pray for everyone, and especially those who hurt you. That is how people change, but forcing people to do or believe in a man made religion is not the way it works.
The only reason that I was able to do any of that stuff was because of Jesus Christ who was fully in me as I had been transformed by reading the scriptures that year and getting baptized in the Holy Spirit on Jan 1, 2015.
We can do nothing without Jesus, so get Jesus and get to work in your community!
