Have you ever considered asking God for exactly what you want? I know that we all turn to God for help when we are in crisis or to help others, but have you ever considered that God is wanting you to ask Him to help you fulfill your dreams? Why would you stay in a dead end job and let all of your dreams get buried under a pile of late bills and dirty laundry? Taste and see the Lord is good! Once you have tasted His goodness and know His awesome saving grace and favor that He gives to all who call and trust in Him for their needs, you will never live like a poor beggar again! If you made Jesus your Lord and Savior, you are now accepted by God in the Beloved. You are God’s beloved in Christ! Know the Truth and the Truth will set you free!
In scripture, Jesus often stopped and asked the person crying out to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” Well, Jesus is the same today, yesterday and tomorrow, so how about answering him, and watching him go to work to fulfill those dreams of yours?
Ask and You will Receive
John 16:23 In that day you will no longer ask Me anything. Truly, truly, I tell you, whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you. 24 Until now you have not asked for anything in My name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.
The only request that was not granted was asked of him by James and John the sons of Zebedee, but unless you are asking to take something that belongs to another, you are most likely going to receive whatever you ask, so that your joy may be full and your fruit abide.
Mark 10:35 And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came up to him and said to him, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you.” 36And he said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?” 37And they said to him, “Grant us to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your glory.” 38Jesus said to them, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?” 39And they said to him, “We are able.” And Jesus said to them, “The cup that I drink you will drink, and with the baptism with which I am baptized, you will be baptized, 40but to sit at my right hand or at my left is not mine to grant, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared.”
How can we abide in Jesus? Do his will. Love God and love others like he loves us. Do good and don’t cause others harm. To remain in Jesus means to know him, and live with him daily. Not a prayer to get what you want on a rare occasion, although he does answer those too, but you truly won’t ever want to leave his love once you are fully aware of it in your life. Share the love of God with those in need and bless others with the blessings that you have received.
Heaven is not like earth. In heaven, everyone is excited and waiting to tell you what Jesus did for them. Here on earth people usually want to tell you about themselves and what they think they did. If they only realized that much of what man does is only possible by the grace of God in their life. Be grateful and realize how good God is so that you can enjoy his presence always with you.

If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. John 15:7 ESV
