Nine years old and a girl that is defined by her stringy long hair and her witty humor and love of football. Not just football as a spectator, oh no! This girl loves to play the game. On her first coed team in 1st grade, she was taunted by a boy claiming that girls were no good and couldn’t play a boy’s game. Even before he could finish his ridiculous, inherited attitude of condemning females, that petite, 1st grader was running past him with the ball. His feet failed him, and he landed on his face trying to tackle her while she ran all the way down the field and scored her first touchdown.
The cheers and laughter were loudly heard as they all stood and shouted for the girl. A moment of victory to all young girls and boys, because it is not about the abilities that come from being a boy or girl, but the abilities and life that come from God to succeed.
She believed that God was able to help her play with the boys if that was in her heart, and He loves His children so much that He knows how to give them strength at the very moment it is needed and of greatest value for building His Kingdom stronger. …to be continued
