About nine years ago, the Lord corrected me and showed me the need to avoid negativity by stepping away from social media and the news. He wanted me to renew my mind through His Word and align my thoughts with His will, not the world’s.
I hadn’t realized how negative my mindset was until I tried to change. I was surrounded by complaints and criticism—even my teacher once joked I’d run the complaint department at Neiman Marcus! But when God revealed it was not okay, I had to learn a new way to think—starting each day with gratitude instead of grumbling.
Imagine a world where everyone replaced complaining with praise and thanksgiving—that’s exactly what God calls us to do. You may not hear an audible voice, but if you seek God through His Word, you will hear Him. Jesus said His sheep hear His voice. If you’re His, listen in faith and humility.
God responds to praise, not accusations. He inhabits the praises of His people. When I stopped complaining and chose worship, I truly began to hear His voice and feel His presence.
Please learn from my journey—complaining leads to misery, but praise leads to blessing. Let go of the negative, take hold of the garment of praise, and watch your life be filled with light, love, and the presence of God.
“Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.” – Psalm 22:3
“Just as a father loves his children, so the Lord loves those who fear and worship Him.” – Psalm 103:13 AMP
“Jesus… was heard because of his reverence.” – Hebrews 5:7 ESV
He is worthy. He loves you. Let your life be a song of thanksgiving to Him.
