To live in your true identity means that you understand and accept your identity as a child of God, a new creation in Christ, and as someone uniquely gifted. The Bible emphasizes that true identity is not found in external achievements or circumstances, but in a relationship with God and the transformative power of Christ.
Key Scriptures:
• John 1:12:
“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God”.
• 2 Corinthians 5:17:
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come”.
• 1 Corinthians 6:19-20:
“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body”.
• Ephesians 2:10:
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared beforehand for us to do”.
• Galatians 2:20:
“I have been crucified with Christ; and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me”.
• 1 Peter 2:9:
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the virtues of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light”.
Understanding Your True Identity:
• Not Defined by External Factors: True identity is not determined by your job, relationships, achievements, or possessions.
• Gifted and Unique: God has given you unique gifts and abilities to use in His service.
• Part of a Larger Purpose: You are part of something bigger than yourself, a family of God and His kingdom.
• New Creation: Through faith in Christ, you are a new person, forgiven and transformed.
• Loved and Accepted: God loves you and accepts you as you are, not as you should be.
• Chosen and Set Apart: You are chosen by God and set apart for a purpose.
• Have Direct Access to God: You can come to God directly through Jesus, seeking His wisdom and guidance.
We come boldly before the throne of God to seek mercy and grace in our time of need. We don’t come shaking and terrified to seek help from the Lord but we come boldly before Him, because of the Blood of Jesus. The Blood of Jesus is the ONLY thing that can cleanse us from an evil conscience of guilt. Don’t be afraid to wash in that blood everyday as often as is needed until your conscience is no longer filled with worthless thoughts and doubts, but you are clean and filled with gratitude for all that God has done to bring you back to Him.
