Grace, Mercy & Miracles

This is the Betty that I remember and loved. She was such a beautiful, selfless friend to everyone. She welcomed me and my son Jacob right into her family and she never treated Jacob as if he were anything but her Grandson. She went to my parents house in Wichita and got their measurements for our wedding and then she took my mom shopping and helped her pick out a dress that Betty paid for even though the Brides parents would traditionally be paying for the wedding. She just wanted to be a blessing for us and make sure everything went smoothly. As soon as she heard that we were expecting Christian in 2000, she took early retirement and moved to Arizona after a lifetime in Kansas where all of her friends and family lived. She left all of it behind to help us raise our kids. She was amazing and I don’t even think we realized how much she gave and did for us. My point is just to say that even though parents or in laws can sometimes seem like a pain in the % they most likely are that way because they don’t know what to do to help anymore. And that is all they ever knew how to do. So just be kind and let them know they are loved and still needed.
