Connected to the realm of Light and not living in the darkness means that you have accepted Jesus and the Word of God as your Truth and nothing is bigger or greater than Jesus and his dominion and authority. When we take every thought captive to the obedience of the knowledge of Christ Jesus, we are training ourselves to grow and discern correctly the things that are pleasing to God. The only way to take things captive and pull down those strongholds like fear, worry, wrong thinking, and every deceptive thought is to be intentional in our thoughts, words, and actions every moment. How is that possible? It takes a lot of grace from God and the strengthening by the Holy Spirit, as well as the desire to want to grow up and mature into all that God has for your life.
If I go to church once a week, but never pray or open my Bible the rest of the week, it is very unlikely that I will ever grow into a level of maturity to be of much value to the people suffering and lost in the world. In fact, I would most likely be just like those people. Always in fear, and dreading everything that I have to do in life, or just complaining, speaking words against God’s Word, and never even knowing that I was giving my thoughts and my words over to the enemy rather than yielding to the Holy Spirit to allow God’s works to be manifest in my life.
I want to be as real and honest as people can take, and I don’t like to be told to compromise the Truth by giving into other people’s watered-down version of the Truth, because I learned from experience that once you start allowing compromising words and beliefs to be exalted, the Truth begins to be removed from the seat of rightful authority where it belongs. This looks like a world full of sickness, poverty, lack, loneliness, and every form of oppression that has forcefully lodged itself into the church and the families due mostly to fears from past experiences.
When a person gets sick and dies unexpectedly people want explanations and they want to find something or someone to blame for everything in this world, but most of the time a person dies of a lack of understanding of the Truth. The Truth of God’s Word is able to keep a person alive and nourish their body, soul, and spirit to keep it vibrant and full of life and health. How can a person who has the Spirit of Life in them die from sickness? I am not sure unless they chose to give up the Spirit, because Jesus was on the cross and he gave up his spirit.
The words of life were all prepared well before any of us came to this world by the working of the Holy Spirit through men and women just like us. The very words of God were recorded in the Bible by His Prophets, His Priests, His anointed, and His blessed and beloved. He chose these individuals and He set them apart for Himself. The people didn’t choose anyone that the sacred teachings came from in the old or the new testament. Men were not given the role of deciding what other men should be taught when it comes to God’s Truths. The Words of Life are found in the Holy Bible. It is Holy and it contains the very Spirit of life which is the Holy Spirit. Jesus said that the words he spoke were Spirit and Life, therefore when we hear those words, they come into our Spirit and produce a transformed life.
Here is the thing about God and His Word; people have to choose to believe or reject what they have heard. If God’s Word is not in a person it means that they have not accepted the Word as their Truth and the means to Salvation. It is by God’s grace that we are saved, but it is our faith in God’s goodness and mercy (which is seen and known as Jesus who fulfilled the law and took all our punishment for sins in our place) that will bring about the fullness of God’s salvation in our lives.
What are we hoping to gain by studying the Bible? Whom are we hoping to benefit by going to church and participating in mission trips and other such works to help the afflicted around the world? Obviously, we are in need of understanding what we were created to do and knowing who we are and why we are supposed to do certain things and avoid other things.
How would I know that it is wrong to allow negative thoughts to fill my heart about myself and others if I grew up in a home full of negativity where nothing was established in the Truth (God’s Word is the Truth aka Jesus- The Truth, The Life, The Way). Not knowing how to think or speak correctly, a person is literally a walking, talking destroyer of all that is good.
The people have been blinded by fear and injured in doubt. They have no Truth because they have chosen to believe whatever is declared by worldly scholars and experts. A person that takes hold of the Words of Life and begins acting upon what he or she is taught will start to resemble a life that resembles Jesus. One that is humbled before God and eager to do the will of the Father, because they have received the inexpressible love and life that comes from the Father through receiving the Truth and acting on it, no longer has the desire to cause harm to others for selfish gain. The transformation that happens in a person is not possible by simply training oneself to do what is right. It requires a supernatural or divine impartation that comes from the Holy Spirit in our lives. The Holy Spirit is available to anyone who will walk in it, according to scripture, but what does that mean? “Walk in it”. Scripture also says that the Father “gives the Spirit without measure”.
The limitations are taken off so that we can prosper and not be in sin and poverty. The blood of Jesus is enough to completely break the power of sin. Jesus was perfected and submissive even unto death on the cross. As the perfect sacrificial lamb of God, Jesus was able to destroy the works of the devil. We are now able to take a hold of the Words of Life and see them manifest as our reality and Truth. Jesus said that He is the Life, the Truth, and the Way and that no one can come to the Father except through him.
We have to always be enforcing the covenant and not allow the enemy to steal or blind us to the promises and covenant that are ours in Christ Jesus.
